About the Resident Artist Program

​

The Resident Artist Program offers individuals the opportunity to further develop their work, establish professional contacts and standards, and work within a community of like-minded individuals in one of the world’s top tourist destinations, Las Vegas, Nevada. Once chosen as a resident artist, an artist may choose either a three-month, six-month, or one-year residency.

A residency at CAV includes:

• Semi-private studio

• Use of 6 electric kilns, 3 updraft, 1 car kiln (downdraft), 1 Geil kiln (spec upon request)

• Work fired with student pieces at no cost (based on space) and personal firings at cost

• Glaze spraying hoods

• 20% off all Laguna clay

• Teaching opportunities

• Exhibition opportunities

• Representation in store and gallery (60/40 split artist/gallery)

• Representation at events

• Off-site housing may be available

• Stipend may be available

 

Resident artist is required to contribute 25 hours per week to Clay Arts Vegas and duties will vary depending on the studio's needs. Resident will also pay for materials (20% discount on selected items) and for additional firings.
