All classes are project-based and designed for ages 16 and up. We love children, but we are an adult facility. Family Class and Clay Camp sessions are offered at times throughout the year so sign up for our newsletter or check our website to keep up to date on the latest class announcements.

We have pottery classes in both wheel-throwing and hand-building. Our classes are designed for all levels and will focus on construction techniques, glazing, and discussions on firing techniques.

You are responsible for your own tools, materials, and specialty items. All clay must be purchased from the studio. The store within the studio carries 65 clay bodies, hundreds of glazes and under-glazes, and a huge selection of unique tools to enhance your pottery experience.

INFORMATION FOR NEW STUDENTS & NON-MEMBERS

Getting started:

  1. Check out the class schedule and choose the class you would like to take and sign up for your first session. Remember that once you start your class fee is valid for one class per week for 8 consecutive weeks, and one (1) hour of Independent Studio time prior to class. We do not roll over classes or give credit for missed classes. Class fees are non-refundable.

  2. In addition to the class fee, you will need to purchase a starter kit and a bag of clay at the studio on the day of your first lesson at an additional cost. The tools are yours to keep and you can purchase more clay any time, as needed.

  3. On the day of your first class come to the studio about 20 - 30 minutes before the start time listed on your class booking so we can show you around and get your supplies for you. At this time, you will be charged the class fee plus the cost of your starter kit and first bag of clay.

  4. On the day of your class, you can book your next time slot for the following week. The class schedule is open for booking 1 week in advance and you must sign up for your time slot each week, even though you are in an 8-week session.

  5. Make sure you come to class ready to get messy! You will probably want to bring a towel and/or apron. Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

  6. Non-returning students must clear their shelf on their last day of class. Shelf should be wiped down and made ready for the next student.

  7. Use of the studio will be terminated at the time of your last class session. This includes the option to pay for independent studio time.

  8. Non-returning students will have 10 days from the last class to return completed work for firing.

  9. Missed classes can be made up during Independent Studio times. This is only valid during your 8-week session and does not roll over. This is not a class and is self-guided study time. Class fees are non-refundable. View the calendar to see the current available Independent Studio sessions.

Helpful tips on choosing your first class:

  • Our on-going enrollment means you can start classes any time, but the class fee is good for 8 consecutive weeks from the date of your first class. It is not a punch card or a drop-in class.

  • For wheel-throwing class  we offer an 8-week beginner class that covers the basics, and all-levels classes for both beginner and returning students. Students are not required to take the beginner's class before moving to the all-levels class. If you choose to start with the beginner's class, you will move to an all-levels class after your first 8-weeks.

  • Hand-building classes are open to all levels.
