JAMIE ADAMS WORKSHOP DETAILS

APRIL 5 & 6 2025

We are so looking forward to our weekend workshop with Jamie Adams. Participants will be creating some basic forms that Jamie will walk you through his sgraffito techniques. Although known for his fascination for Star Wars, space themed art, and dinosaurs – those taking the workshop should not limit themselves to his themes.

Who is Jamie Adams?

Jamie Adams studied painting and ceramics in college and later worked for a number of museums and non-profit art centers, including Artists Image Resource, an artist-run, print and imaging organization established to serve as a laboratory for artists, educators, and the community. AIR’s mission is to integrate the creation of fine art prints with educational programs that explore the role of the artist in contemporary culture. And spent his summer at Clay Arts Vegas as a resident, making work and taking early morning bike rides to see the city.

What time do we start?

• The workshop at Clay Arts Vegas will be on April 5 & 6.

• Workshop will run from 10am to 4pm. With a lunch break form 12:30 to 1:15pm.

• Please remember we suggest taking lunch outside of the building, it's a great way to get some fresh air and meet new people.

What Should I bring?

You will want to bring your basic tool kit, your favorite sgraffito tools, and a basic collection of under-glaze. Typically Jamie works on a red clay body, we will have a many on hand. Remember to bring some “coloring book” type images about 3”x3” (perfect for a tumbler or mug) – something a bit large for a plate. We will a limited number of scraffito tools from Xiem Tools USA, Kemper. and.., and Jamie is bring a few for you all to try as well.
