May 11, 2024 we are hosting a Raku and Potluck. We ask that you RSVP.
What is American raku pottery?
The Western version of raku was developed in the 20th century by studio potters. Typically wares are fired at a high temperature, and after removing pieces from the kiln, the wares are placed in an open-air container filled with combustible material, which is not a traditional Raku practice in Japan
This version of Raku is NOT food-safe, nor is it water-tight. But, it is beautiful!
What you need to know:
Bing in a bisque fired "pot". It will cost between $6 - $18. Clay Arts Vegas will provide the glaze, and fire the work for you. If you do not have work, we have many pieces for you to choose.
This event is open to Current students and members, as well as the public. You must RSVP otherwise you won't be able to participate.
