These stacked art pieces are an exploration for each artist. Think of them as a story, some literal, some more abstract. Many cultures through out the world have used stacked art as a tool to organize thoughts. The artists hope that these pieces both put a smile on your face as well as give you a little something to think about.

Stacked art is present all over the world, from the beautiful carvings in Poland to the first nation poles of the pacific north west. In our culture these pieces are often called a Totems. This term was first derived from the Ojibwa word Ototeman. Europeans adapted this word to describe the stacked carved poles of the pacific North West peoples. To respect and honor this history most artists will call pieces like these garden stackers, stacked art, or pottery poles
